California Part 2

Next, Daniel flew in for a long weekend. After a day with my family we went to his family's house. It was so fun to have another family to introduce Will to. They loved him, too!

Here is Auntie Hannah (he kept smiling in his sleep):

He was loving being with his Grandma again after her visit to Washington.

I think it is so sweet how he loved to snuggle with his Grandpa:

He loved meeting everyone including his cousin Lyla (above). We hope they will grow up to be good friends. And we really hope to live close to them!

It seemed like most of the pictures I took had at least two family members adoring Will:

On the Sunday that we were there, my family drove to the Larsen house too. Daniel was able to bless Will at church that day. It was wonderful to have both of our families there with us. We were just missing a few grandparents and one of Daniel's brothers. Here is the group:

Here are Daniel's grandparents with their great-grandchildren:

Our little family:

Will also tried a swing for the first time while we were there. I bundled him in with my jacket to help him fit better. He liked it!

It was such a fantastic visit and we can't wait to go back in August!

California Part 1

I guess it is time to get around to posting about California. I was waiting to get some important pictures. Keep in mind that this trip was almost 2 months ago - Will is much bigger now...

After Will and I went to Utah, we flew to California to be with my family. Besides my mom, Will hadn't met my family yet. We got in really late, but everyone wanted to say hi to the cute guy. These pictures were taken somewhere around 1:00 AM.

It was a little late for him...

He loved meeting all of my family.

He wasn't sure about taking a bath...

Kylie made him this really cute stuffed owl. You can't tell from this picture (he was tired!!), but I think he loves it now.

My family loved him so much that they drove and met us at the airport after we stayed with the Larsens. They wanted to see him (and maybe us) one last time. So nice!

And here is an especially handsome one:

Part 2 will be up soon.

So Happy

Today I burned myself. Sad day. I was trying a new recipe that involved cooking porkchops in some olive oil. I really hate cooking with oil, but I thought I would try it. What a terrible idea. I now have burns all over my stomach. Really gross burns that are blistering and peeling. NEVER again.

On a happy note, I decided that the extreme pain meant that I could take a day off from the cleaning and errands I had planned for today. Instead, Will and I have spent the morning looking at ALL of the photos/videos/Daniel's blog posts about when that cute baby was born.

Ahh... I loved it. There was so much joy in those few days. I found this picture of us enjoying some skin-to-skin bonding. It sums up how I remember feeling the entire time we were in the hospital. Calm. Happy. Peaceful. Joyful. Wonderful.

Love. This. Baby.

Happy 4th of July!

Our 4th of July started with a nice lazy morning. Will had fun hanging out with his dad.

Sometimes he was very happy:

Sometimes he was very surprised:

We made red and blue pancakes (with white bananas on top) to be especially patriotic.

Later, we headed over to the Murray's. They followed us here from Utah and we are glad they are in Washington now! Will and Annika had fun getting to know each other:

You can see that he is just as big as she is - Will is 3 months, Annika is 6 months. :) Here is Will showing off his new 4th of July outfit:

We had lots of yummy food. The Murrays made chicken wrapped in bacon that was sooo good. I pinned the recipe on Pinterest if you are interested. We will definitely be making it soon. The lemonade and grilled asparagus was good too, but I didn't take any good pictures. I cut some of the watermelon into star shapes with a cookie cutter and we decorated a cheesecake from Costco with red and blue, of course.

It was such a fun day. Thank you Murray family for hosting us!

Yesterday

Yesterday was an exciting day for Will!

1) His daddy got home from a campout with the scouts. Hooray! We missed him.

2) He tried out his Jumperoo for the first time. I found it on Craigslist for $25. Yeah!! He loved it - especially the blue tree frog that he is looking at in the second picture. It is his new best friend.

3) He actually rolled onto his side to play with his pink bathtub. Yay! Although he was not rolling over completely, it does give me hope that he will roll over someday and has not been ruined by the lack of tummy time mentioned in the previous post. Unfortunately, he rolled part of the way back when I got the camera. Well, you get the idea.

4) We applied for Will's very first passport. Here is his passport picture. It is quite a cute mugshot. And look how patriotic he is!
