My mom came and picked us up. The two hour drive back ended up being much longer because there were huge fires on the hills we had to pass through. We were stopped for an hour and a half. We had no idea how long it would be, so we kept Will in his car seat for most of it (thinking we would start moving at any second).
He was so excited when we finally let him out.
He was so NOT excited when we had to quickly shove him back in.
But he recovered pretty quickly once his mommy started making crazy noises for him (I believe this time was "Doh!").
The rest of our week and a half there was spent eating lots of fresh fruit and berries from the backyard and exploring everything.
This was his very favorite fountain. We probably spent hours playing there. Daily.
He loved carrying around oranges and lemons.
Papa played with him in the fountain (and tried to keep him from breaking it).
Austin taught him that his feet could go in the fountain.
Austin also taught him that his feet could go on the piano.
He enjoyed directing people where to go and pointing out items of interest.
He had some good smiles for Ashley.
He liked the pool a lot - but only on the big step with all of his awesome toys from Grandma.
Grandma read him lots of FUNNY stories. Here he was laughing at "whisper and SHOUT!"
He tried to give the lion some chapstick (and started to develop his obsession with chapstick that continues to this day).
We took a quick five generation picture.
He LOVED exploring the backyard.
He added some lovely marks to the coffee table (by banging a flashlight repeatedly).
He climbed all kinds of places he wasn't supposed to.
He begged to go swimming,
He took a walk with Austin.
We let him play in my dad's truck and he had the time of his life!
The boys explored together.
He loved to watch the cat (but she was scared of him).
One day, we went to the beach. He loved it this time! He wanted to charge right into that ocean!
He learned how to juggle with lemons.
He watched some TV with Austin.
He liked looking at the background of GG's computer.
Austin taught him how to do somersaults.
And he asked for "more" and "more."
Grandma taught him a straw blowing game.
He zoned out while watching Yo Gabba Gabba (and started his TV obsession too).
He enjoyed eating lots of M&Ms.
And feeding them to Papa.
He actually reached for Austin to pick him up at the airport.
The boys all watched a crazy moving sculpture thing at the airport.
Will got his first Magna Doodle to keep him occupied on the airplane.
Really, what entertained him best was a cup of ice.
We had the best time in California!!!
