LASIK and A Visit from Grandma

Just a few weeks after our California trip, my mom was able to come to Washington for a visit!

We really wanted her to come play with us, and we decided to combine that playing with a little LASIK eye surgery for me.

I had to wear my glasses for a few weeks before the surgery. That was probably my least favorite part of the whole thing.

(Glasses on the 4th of July!)

LASIK was an awesome experience. It was so fast (like 60 seconds per eye) and the recovery was so easy. Yay! No more glasses or contacts. Thank you Grandma Sharon!!!

Will and my mom had a lot of fun exploring the fancy hospital (with lots of TVs, fish tanks, and children's section) during my appointments.

(I had to wear sunglasses for 24 hours after the surgery - even inside.)

After the LASIK appointments were all done, we had lots of time for other fun!

We were even able to get away for the weekend to celebrate our 5th Anniversary. It was the first time we had been away from Will overnight and he did great. We stayed in Seattle, went to an amazing brunch, strolled along the water, went shopping (video games for Daniel, bath products for me), lounged around in our hotel, and ordered room service. It was so relaxing and fun to be just the two of us again. Still, we were excited to get home to Will!

Thank you Mom/Grandma for all of your help, love, presents, and company!
